Winter Glowworm Tours

The Trust offers guided night tours to see Ōtari’s resident titiwai (glowworms), plus other things that emerge in the night

Each winter we host guided tours in the early evenings to discover titiwai, and other wildlife creatures who venture out in the night in Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush. These are hugely popular and tours quickly get booked out. It’s difficult to add more to meet demand as dates are timed during early or late moon cycles, when the sky is darker and the glowworms brighter! And as it gets closer to summer obviously it gets dark later, so not really suitable for late night expeditions!

Tours are limited to 20, book on Eventfinda.co.nz. All tours 7pm to 8pm, meet at Tāne Whakapirpiri, the Ōtari visitor centre.

Dates are:

Tuesday 14 July

Wednesday 15 July

Thursday 16 July

Satruday 18 July (limited bookings)

Saturday 15 August (limited bookings)

Saturday 12 September
